Reading this piece tonight really "hit the spot" ! ( hehe I love that expression because sometimes feelings feel like individual nerves pressed tightly somewhere on our bodies for so long we've absorbed the pain until ... a piece of writing like this one - a conversation with a friend, a film or a piece of music reveals the burried tension, helps it come to light, see the surface, and the tension eases progressively - not entirely, but almost ? - its such a grounding feeling)
Merci Chris for this brilliant insight on a sentiment i've noticed within myself and so many of my friends. The other day, i was supposed to be away from the town I live in but got called back to it earlier than expected. Nobody new I was back, and i decided to keep it a secret, spending two marvellous days walking around, doing strictly what i felt like doing, at the pace i wanted to, neither reporting to nor talking to anyone - and it was the most beautiful feeling. A strange holiday in my own home.
Thank you Zoe, I'm glad it hit the spot! And thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience of a holiday in your own town. I love these things that we can all do, outside the therapy room, using the ordinary resources of the world, to make our lives into therapeutic environments.
The best remedy against the Sunday scaries. Thank you! :)
Thank you Maxime!
